Jigoku-mushi Pudding

Overview

One of the best sweets to try when visiting Myoban Onsen is “Jigoku-mushi Pudding,” steamed in the hot spring steam. The store at Okamoto-ya, a long-established ryokan (Japanese-style inn), sells “jigoku-mushi pudding” with a rich, bitter caramel flavor that will make you addicted to it. The menu also includes udon noodles, rice dishes, and salted egg and rice cake. Udon noodles, rice dishes, and salted eggs are also available.
