What is Nagasaki Champon?

Nagasaki Champon is a famous and popular local food of Nagasaki. Based on Fujian cuisine from the Fujian province in China, it has pork, vegetables, fish products, and more ingredients stir-fried with broth made from chicken and pork bones. And, noodles are added and boiled.

The word “champon” means a mixture of various things and the name of such a dish. There are many local foods called “champon” in Japan. Among champons, Nagasaki champon is particularly famous.

Sara udon is also famous Nagasaki local food. Sara udon is an arrangement of champon for delivery with less liquid to prevent spilling during delivery. It is a fried soba with champon ingredients.
