Overview
Nabegataki Falls is a popular and spectacular spot where the water falling from the waterfall looks like a curtain of water amidst the greenery. Because of its beauty, a famous Japanese tea commercial has been filmed here. It is a great spot for those who like to take photos and are looking for Instagenic-spots.
The waterfall is believed to have been created by a huge eruption about 90,000 years ago that created the Aso caldera. the waterfall has a drop of about 10 meters and width of about 20 meters.
The waterfall is located in Nabegataki park. From the entrance of the park to the waterfall, it takes about 5 minutes by walking. the path to the waterfall is relatively easy and can be easily visited by the elderly, women and children.
The waterfall can be seen up close by the river and the negative ions can be felt. It is recommended to bring a towel as there may be splashes of water.
